                On January 2nd 2024, the application of gardenia oil, cockscomb extract and Acer truncatum maple leaf as new food raw materials was accepted by National Health Commission.

                1. Gardenia oil

                Gardenia jasminoides Ellis oil is a natural vegetable oil obtained by shelling, filtering, separating and refining gardenia jasminoides Ellis fruit, which is a woody plant oil.


                2. Comb extract

                The comb extract is a kind of natural extract extracted from comb. The main components of comb are hyaluronic acid, polysaccharide, protein, amino acids, vitamins and minerals. Hyaluronic acid was originally found and extracted from cockscomb.

                In 2013, cockscomb extract was approved as Novel Food in the European Union, which can be added to daily consumption products, such as milk, yogurt or cheese, aiming at bone and joint health. This raw material has also obtained GRAS status in the United States.


                3. Acer truncatum maple leaf

                Acer truncatum is mostly produced in southwest China, and local people have the habit of drinking Acer truncatum maple leaf tea.

                Acer truncatum leaves contain many active substances, including flavonoids, tannins, chlorogenic acid, superoxide dismutase (SOD), tannins and polysaccharides.

                Seed kernel from Acer truncatum Bunge, the pressed Acer truncatum Bunge seed oil has been approved as a new food raw material as early as Announcement No.9 in 2011.
